Power's Flexible Series UPS is an excellent choice for those
applications that require battery backup with good surge protection, as
well as need
the flexibility of being able to add additional battery cabinets for
extended run-time as necessary.
Typical
applications
UPs-600
is the ideal UPS for computer or telecommunications equipment in
environments where ac power delivery is unreliable and several hours of
battery backup time are necessary.
Key benefits of
the UPs-600
The
UPs-600 protects connected equipment from: power supply failure,
erroring, system
lockups and re-boots. It contributes to enhanced systems operation,
greater reliability, improved repeatability, and extended operating
life.
Typical back-up time fully loaded is 8 minutes, but 20 minutes can be
obtained when the unit is loaded to 50% of its capacity. Thus, an
application requiring 300VA can be provided with 20 minutes of hold-up. The capability of adding extra EXt-400 external battery packs also
makes this a very cost-effective choice for enabling nearly unlimited
battery backup times. Custom Settings: DIP switches in the rear panel allow the user to set
brownout sensitivity, inverter operating frequency, or alarm mode, for
complete flexibility and control of the UPS.
How the UPs-600
works
Upon loss of power, the audible alarm beeps about once a second, as
the battery inverter kicks in within 8ms, which means equipment will
continue to operate without interruption. When the
battery level drops until only a few minutes of holdup time remain, the
alarm will beep, and the LED will flash more rapidly, alerting of
impending shutdown. A DB-9 female connector provides communications capability with
monitoring software which can safely save open files and automatically
shut down your systems. The
UPs-600 continually provides power protection with a capacitive element
and a fast-acting MOV (metal oxide varistor).
