AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH
Fast enough to replace UPS systems in certain applications

TSi Power Corporation ~ Antigo, WI ~ has announced a new series of user customizable automatic transfer switches (ATS) for enabling the use of redundant power sources, such as small uninterruptible power systems or dc to ac inverters feeding industrial controls, PLC cabinets, internet servers, telecom systems, etc.

Nam Paik, Director of Technology, TSi Power Corp., says, "If the ATs-1000’s DIP Switch is set to "fast transfer" (20ms typical transfer time) mode, then when redundant power sources are present it can replace an expensive UPS system and battery banks for most computers, telecommunication, and industrial equipment (since switch-mode power supplies in most new electronics equipment provide a minimum of 20ms in capacitor hold-up time under full load conditions)."

ATS is now the ultimate power backup strategy

The TSi automatic transfer switch allows you to use 2 separate UPS, dc to ac inverters, motor-generators, utility grids, or other 120V/120 vac or 230V/230 vac circuits to give you 1 ultra-reliable power feed into your systems.

The two ac sources feeding the ATs-1000/1000E do not have to be synchronized since the
ATS is designed to switch between two asynchronous ac sources without damage to itself or to equipment powered by switch-mode power supplies.

User-selectable transfer times of 20 ms, 40 ms or 1 second allow use of non-synchronized ac sources for all types of load equipment. If a positive power break is needed during the transfer, then the ATs-1000/1000E may be set to "slow transfer" (1 second transfer time) mode to ensure a full
1 second ac power outage during transfer.

About TSi Power Corporation

TSi Power manufactures ac line conditioners (including a medical grade series), isolation transformers, ac automatic voltage regulators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), dc to ac inverters and overvoltage protection devices.

TSi Power specializes in custom products for relatively small volumes. These are created from combining our regular products with our library of board designs and an extensive library of CAD designs. This combination allows us to respond quickly and economically to many varying requirements.
