Single conversion
line-interactive UPS
The line-interactive XUPs Series by TSi Power is
rack-mountable, and with it's PWM (pulsed-width-modulation) +/-8% automatic
voltage regulation is the best choice for high efficiency combined with long
battery life, and comes in a rugged steel enclosure. XUPs comes with a
built-in battery connector for adding extra battery cabinets, and is also
available without batteries for certain OEM applications. These come in 115V/115vac
or 230V/230vac, and in 600VA or 1kVA sizes. Because XUPs generates a sine
wave even on battery backup, it is also suitable for automatic transfer
switch redundant power source mission-critical applications.
There are also three other kinds of single conversion 120V UPS; a standby UPS in a
600VA size, a wide temperature battery version in a 400VA size, and an OEM
module wide temperature version of the XUPs in different sizes up to 2100VA
(2.1kVA) for manufacturer's utilizing
their own batteries. The UPs-400Wtb unit
and OEM-XUPs modules are suitable
for backup of mission-critical applications needing wide temperature
batteries and are usually the choice for OEMs or integrators that already
have their own existing outdoor enclosures to place the units in. Outdoor UPS

Double conversion
on-line UPS
Regenerative ac to dc to ac, true
on-line UPS by Falcon UPS come in tower or rack-mount styles, and most have
pulse-width-modified +/-2% automatic voltage regulation for stable voltage. They
employ insulated-gate-bi-polar transistor (IGBT) technology and
have the distinction of delivering the purest
definitive sense of the words "mission-critical UPS design." They provide
the equivalent of "organic high protein baby food" battery backed-up
electricity with very precise voltage regulation which not only enhances
your power quality, but also enables long battery life by not having to go
to battery every time there is a momentary voltage drop. Units come with
built-in battery connectors for adding extra reserve battery cabinets if
desired.
Motor-generator compatible: they have input
power factor correction and at the same time provide frequency re-creation
(or re-generation) to handle the frequency or voltage drift sometimes caused
by additional motor-generator backup. They also have a built-in
automatic bypass, and many models are available with isolation transformers.
Note: Both the above TSi single conversion
XUPs Series and Falcon double conversion SG Series have very stable sine wave output, even on
batteries, which enables the use of
automatic transfer switches
for RAID style redundant battery backup, highly recommended for
mission-critical applications. |
